Orange County College Roundup : SCC Defeats Fresno Pacific

Chris Zachariou and Kyle Lundy scored goals to lead the Southern California College men’s soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Fresno Pacific in Golden State Athletic Conference play Tuesday at Costa Mesa.

It was the first time in 14 years that the Vanguards defeated the Sunbirds.

Goalie Tim Ramage had 10 saves for SCC (4-7-2 overall, 1-0-1 in conference).

In other soccer action:

Pacific Christian 3, Loma Linda 3--Both teams were looking for their first win of the season, but had to settle for a tie. Glenn Corey, Richard Rincon and Scott McKinney each scored for Pacific Christian (0-8-1). Loma Linda is 0-1-1.

In volleyball action:

Cal Lutheran 3, Southern California College 0--Jill Kosicinski had 12 kills to pace the Kingsmen, No. 5 in NAIA, past the Vanguards, 15-12, 15-7, 15-5. Colleen Cassidy had 12 kills and 10 digs for Southern California College (8-18, 2-7). Cal Lutheran is 23-1, 9-0.

Chapman 3, Cal Poly Pomona 2--Senior Janet Jenson had 14 kills, 13 digs and 7 solo blocks to lead the Panthers to the 15-12, 9-15, 5-15, 15-1, 16-14 victory at Pomona in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. game.

Senior Tammy Light added 12 kills and 9 digs for Chapman (8-9, 2-0). The Broncos are 9-10 and 2-1.
