Driver Who Ignored Warning Dies in Crash
A Vista man was killed early Thursday morning when his car hit a freeway embankment on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Richard S. Hall, 23, died at the scene. He was northbound on I-5 near Elm Street when his car went off the freeway and plowed into the embankment. Hall, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car, the CHP said.
CHP officers at the scene found a copy of a citation Hall received earlier this month for not wearing his seat belt.
