Dog Menacing Trick-or-Treaters Is Shot
A San Diego police officer shot and killed a dog Saturday who authorities said was menacing trick-or-treaters and had bitten an adult in the South Bay area.
The dog, described as a 70-pound German shepherd, was reported to have been chasing trick-or-treaters on Enero Street. When officers arrived shortly before 6 p.m., police said, they learned that the dog had already bitten a man.
While officers were searching for the animal, the dog approached one of the officers, who shot it once, police said. The dog ran into a yard and died. Animal control officials took the animal away.
