Sting, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Itzhak Perlman, Beverly Sills and others will be on hand to honor Roy Acuff, Benny Carter, Ray Charles, Fats Domino, B. B. King and Isaac Stern during taping of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards show tonight for for broadcast on CBS later this month. Honorees received their awards at February’s Grammy ceremonies, but the academy decided to make it a separate annual event. Also scheduled to appear: Steve Allen, Johnny Cash, Ahmet Ertegun, Stanley Jordan, Cleo Laine, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ronnie Milsap, Gregory Peck, Roy Clark, Emmylou Harris, Minnie Pearl, David Sanborn, Carlos Santana and Natalie Cole.
