A ground-breaking ceremony for UC Irvine’s new Graduate School of Management Building will be held at 11 a.m. next Monday, the university announced.

The 40,000-square-foot, four-story structure is scheduled to open in January, 1989. The building will contain an array of classrooms, offices for faculty members and graduate students, conference rooms and an expanded computer facility. The UCI branch of the University of California Institute of Transportation Studies will also be moved to the new building.

The structure has been designed by Venturi, Rauch and Scott Brown in association with Bissell Architects of Newport Beach.
