The World Boxing Assn. lightweight title is on the line tonight in Las Vegas, where Edwin Rosario will fight undefeated Julio Cesar Chavez in a scheduled 12-round bout.
Rosario, although he is the champion, is the underdog. He has a 27-2 record with 23 knockouts. A 24-year-old Puerto Rican, Rosario won the crown 14 months ago with a surprising second-round knockout of Livingstone Bramble.
Chavez, who has 45 knockouts, has fought all but 13 of his bouts in his native Mexico and has not lost since turning professional in 1980.
