Undefeated Tony Willis of Chicago knocked out favored Ramzi Hassan of Campo, Calif., at 32 seconds of the final round of their scheduled 12-round United States Boxing Assn. light-heavyweight championship bout Tuesday night at the Forum.
Willis (174) put Hassan (175) on the floor with a right cross in the 12th, and referee Larry Rozadilla stopped the bout. Hassan’s trainer also had motioned to stop the fight. Hassan was ahead on all three judges’ scorecards going into the 12th round.
Willis now holds the USBA and North American Boxing Federation light-heavyweight titles with a 14-0 record, including 11 knockouts. Hassan is 28-3.
