Sidekicks Collect Season-High Goal Total in Their 6-4 Victory Over Lazers at Dallas

The Dallas Sidekicks got a season-high goal output while scoring a 6-4 victory over the Los Angeles Lazers in a Major Indoor Soccer League game Wednesday night.

The victory evened the Sidekicks’ record at 5-5, while the Lazers fell to 4-4.

Victor Moreland got the Sidekick offense untracked when he fired a shot past MISL All-Star goalie David Brcic with 3:27 gone. Doc Lawson then stripped the ball from Jim Gabarra, dribbled three feet and scored.

Los Angeles came back with two goals in the second period on shots by Cha Cha Namdar and Mike Windischmann. The Sidekicks also got a goal in the second quarter when Willie Molano fed Mark Karpun in front of an open net.

The Sidekicks went up, 4-2, when Mike Jeffries got his second goal of the season with 8:16 gone in the third period. Fourth-quarter goals by Wes McLeod and Kevin Smith ensured the victory.

The Lazers got a mid-fourth-quarter goal when Michael Collins’ shot bounced off the dasher board and hit goalie Joe Papaleo in the back and rolled in.

Collins got another goal with little more than a minute to play when he fired a shot past Papaleo.
