Stefan Edberg, the second-ranked tennis player in the world, twisted his right foot during practice in Goteborg, Sweden, and may miss Sweden’s Davis Cup finals against India Dec. 18-20.
Edberg stumbled off the indoor court with a swollen foot and was in pain after a practice session with Joakim Nystrom. He was sliding to reach a ball when his right foot got stuck in the clay.
Sweden, playing in its fifth straight finals, has 10 other players, including No. 3 Mats Wilander, ranked higher than the best Indian--Ramesh Krishnan at No. 56.
