Uruguay’s Penarol, Guadalajara Tie

Ricardo Viera’s shot from 18 feet went off the goal post early in the second half to help preserve a 0-0 tie between the Penarol team of Uruguay and Guadalajara of Mexico Tuesday night in an international soccer match.

Guadalajara, Mexico’s national soccer champion, dominated the field in the first half but had no clear opportunity to score in front of 12,103 fans at the Coliseum.
