NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle fined Houston cornerback Patrick Allen $5,000 for hitting Indianapolis kicker Dean Biasucci with a forearm to the neck in a game three weeks ago, Allen said.
“I did it and I accept the consequences, which is five big ones,” Allen told KRIV-TV. “Rozelle said it looked premediated. He said I would have been suspended, but it was my first personal foul in four years and I basically had a clean record.”
After Indianapolis had scored its final touchdown, making the score 50-27 with six seconds left in the game, Allen charged through and struck the Colt kicker following the extra point.
The Oilers accused the Colts of trying to run up the score.
