Dick Wagner, who resigned as general manager of the Houston Astros in October after losing a power struggle with Manager Hal Lanier, was named a special assistant in the baseball commissioner’s office. Wagner replaces Roland Hemond, who left the commissioner’s office last month to become general manager of the Baltimore Orioles.
