Palmer, Walker Lead After a 62
Arnold Palmer and Colleen Walker combined for a nine-under-par 62 Saturday to take a one-stroke lead with a 127 total in the second round of the $850,000 Mazda Champions.
The 54-hole event, which offers a $500,000 prize to the winning team, pairs a player on the PGA Seniors Tour with a player from the LPGA Tour. The better score of the two players is counted on each hole.
Walker had seven birdies, and Palmer added two.
A stroke behind the leaders at 128 were Nancy Lopez and Miller Barber, who shot a combined 63. First-round leaders Chris Johnson and Butch Baird were at 129 after a 65.
