Anaheim : Truck Fells Power Lines, Starting Garage Fires

Share

A garbage truck knocked over a telephone pole and power lines Monday morning, igniting a fire that burned five garages and caused $30,000 in damage, authorities said. No one was reported injured.

The blaze, in the 3000 block of West Coolidge Avenue, started at around 8:10 a.m. in unattached garages in an apartment complex after a Jaycox Disposal Co. truck accidentally backed into the telephone pole, Anaheim Fire Department investigator Mike Feeney said.

Power lines held up by the pole fell onto the five garages, sparking the fire.
