Cordero Reported in Stable Condition
Jockey Angel Cordero, injured in a spill Wednesday at Santa Anita, was transferred from the intensive care unit to a private room at Arcadia Methodist Hospital Thursday and reported to be in stable condition.
“He’s alert and resting comfortably,” a Santa Anita spokesman said. “No announcement has been made as to when he’ll be released from the hospital or return to riding. It’s a day-to-day thing. He was taken off his mounts today.”
Cordero, 45, was injured when Forkintheroad, his mount, fell approaching the final turn, throwing the jockey to the track.
