Fullerton, Winless in PCAA, Plays UNLV
Cal State Fullerton, which has beaten Nevada Las Vegas only 3 times in 18 games and has lost the past 11 meetings, plays the 13th-ranked Rebels tonight in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. basketball game at Titan Gym.
Fullerton, off to its worst start in PCAA play since it was 0-9 in the 1980-81 season, is winless in four conference games. The Titans are 4-9 overall.
The Rebels (12-1, 3-1) rebounded from a 62-60 loss to Santa Barbara last week by trouncing UC Irvine, 103-68, Saturday. The loss to Santa Barbara broke UNLV’s 23-game home winning streak.
Richard Morton, the only Titan to start all 13 games, leads Fullerton with a 24.7 scoring average. The only other substantial contributor to the offense is Henry Turner, who has a 16.7-point average. Turner broke a three-game slump with 24 points in a 67-55 loss to UC Santa Barbara last week. Bobby Adair, a starting forward who was suspended two games ago for disciplinary reasons, has been reinstated and is expected to play.
