An oil slick, a life raft, and parts of a medical kit were all that searchers had found Thursday of a military plane that disappeared on a training flight from Alameda Naval Air Station to Pyramid Lake. “Hopes are up but they have found no bodies and there has been nothing that can definitely determine whether the men are still missing or have perished,” said Virginia Felker, spokeswoman for the aircraft’s base in Alameda. Officials were trying to determine what caused the plane to crash into the lake, which is about 230 miles east of the base. Divers from a search-and-rescue squadron of the Air National Guard were searching the 120-foot waters where the plane was presumed to have crashed and disappeared.
