A 21-year-old San Diego woman fought off an attacker long enough to dial 911 for help, police said.
Joseph Anthony Munoz, 29, of San Diego was arrested early Monday morning while walking out the front door of a house on 30th Street east of Balboa Park, police said.
The victim told police that she heard someone trying to break into her house about 6:30 a.m. Several minutes later, a man entered her bedroom and attempted to rape her, she told police. After a fierce struggle, she escaped and phoned for help, police said.
Munoz was being held on suspicion of burglary and attempted rape in the County Jail downtown.
