Kearny 74, Clairemont 48--Unranked Clairemont upset highly-regarded Kearny earlier this season and led, 18-17, after the first quarter Tuesday. But that was it for a repeat performance. Sixth-ranked Kearny (17-4, 4-2) went on a 20-6 second-quarter run and won easily. Randy Robinson led Kearny with 28 points. Ray McDavid scored 20 for Clairemont (5-14, 1-5).

Mission Bay 60, USDHS 46--Kevin Ahsmuhsscored 17 points to lead visiting Mission Bay (9-12, 4-2). Kearny is 16-5, 3-3.

GROSSMONT

Santana 84, Monte Vista 72--Tim Barry scored a game-high 32 points to lead No. 7 Santana (18-1, 12-0). Scott Winne led Monte Vista (13-6, 8-3) with 24 points.

Mount Miguel 73, El Cajon Valley 51--Frank Davis scored 19 points to lead Mount Miguel (7-11, 5-7) at El Cajon Valley. El Cajon Valley is 1-16 and 0-11.

Granite Hills 57, El Capitan 52--Quentin Hollis had 17 points and 14 rebounds for Granite Hills (11-8, 6-6). St. Augustine transfer John Russell had 7 points and 8 rebounds in his first game for Granite Hills. El Capitan is 4-13 and 2-9.

CITY EASTERN Madison 65, Serra 48--Third-ranked Madison took an 18-8 first-quarter lead and never was challenged. Robby Robinson’s 16 points led Madison (18-2, 6-0). Serra is 6-11 and 1-5.

Patrick Henry 48, Point Loma 38--Collis Hunt and Terrence Hamilton each scored six points in the fourth quarter for Patrick Henry at Point Loma. Danny Kotnik’s 18-footer as time ran out in the third quarter put Patrick Henry (12-7, 4-2) ahead to stay, 33-32. Point Loma is 11-10 and 2-4.

Morse 59, Mira Mesa 58--Mark Lawrence hit a three-pointer with 22 seconds to play for Morse at Mira Mesa (9-9, 1-5). Marcus Combs led eighth-ranked Morse (12-7, 4-2) with 20 points.

CITY CENTRAL Lincoln 89, Hoover 72--Hoover (2-16, 1-5) trailed by just four at halftime, but second-ranked Lincoln’s press forced Hoover into mistakes and turnovers. Bernard Dickerson led five Lincoln players in double figures with 18 points. Lincoln is 18-2 and 6-0.

Crawford 82, St. Augustine 62--Lamont Grove, the county’s leading scorer, had 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead Crawford. Grove scored 14 second-quarter points as Crawford (11-7, 5-1) turned a 26-18 first-quarter deficit into a 44-39 halftime lead. St. Augustine (5-14, 0-6) was led by Doug Carter’s 22 points.

San Diego 71, Christian 55--Tony Wines scored 22 points, including two three-pointers, to lead host San Diego (10-7, 4-2). Christian (9-10, 2-4) scored 30 points in the third quarter but never gained the lead.

GIRLS CITY CENTRAL Our Lady of Peace 55, Crawford 44--Terri Butler, who scored 30 points for Crawford the first time these teams met, was held to six by Tammy Tavares as Our Lady of Peace won. April Velk led Our Lady of Peace (8-13, 4-2) with 19 points, Tavares had 13 and Callie Palen added 12. Visiting Crawford (10-7, 5-1) was led by Erica Kiser’s 14 points.

San Diego 49, Christian 40--Denise Nolsi scored 22 points to lead San Diego at Christian. Roya Bruce added 11 points for San Diego (4-10, 3-3). Sue Devol made two three-pointers and scored 14 points for Christian (5-9, 2-4).

GROSSMONT Santana 73, Monte Vista 44--Sophomore Rebecca Aase scored a career-high 32 points at Santana. Leslie Ellis added 20 points and 7 assists for second-ranked Santana, which led 28-3 after the first quarter. Melissa Smith, the Grossmont League’s top scorer, had 21 points for Monte Vista (13-6, 8-3). Santana is 18-1 and 12-0.

PALOMAR Vista 45, Poway 39--Host Poway (10-9, 4-4) led, 29-28, at the end of three quarters, but Vista (16-4, 8-0) was able to get the ball inside to Chris Enger in the fourth quarter. Enger, the game’s high-scorer, scored 14 of her 22 points in the second half.
