Greg Norman, Bernhard Langer and Jack Nicklaus make their first appearance on the PGA Tour this year when they begin play today in the $700,000 AT&T; Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

The tournament, which is worth $70,000 to the winner, returns Johnny Miller as its defending champion.

Miller will play along with his son, John, Jr., 17, for the first time.

Nicklaus, golf’s career leading money winner, did not play in the first three tour events this year. Tom Watson, golf’s No. 2 career money winner, is also part of the Pebble Beach field.

MONY Tournament of Champions winner Steve Pate is entered and so is last week’s Phoenix Open champion Sandy Lyle, but Bob Hope winner Jay Haas is not playing here.

Norman is coming off a victory that earned him $60,000 last week in the Palm Meadows tournament in Australia.

Three courses will be used and golfers will rotate between Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill and Cypress Point the first three days. The final round will be played Sunday at Pebble Beach.
