Holloway Scores 26 in Arizona State Win
Forward Eric Holloway scored 26 points to tie a career high and also grabbed 8 rebounds to help Arizona State defeat California, 88-75, in a Pacific 10 game Thursday night.
The Sun Devils, 13-7 overall and 6-4 in conference play, went on an 8-2 run to take a 76-66 lead with 3:32 remaining and put the game away.
Cal (6-12, 3-7) lost for the 10th time in 12 games. Matt Beeuwsaert led the Bears with 23 points.
Guard Arthur Thomas scored 25 points for Arizona State.
“We had a number of opportunities to put them away,” said Arizona State Coach Steve Patterson, “but they didn’t quit. I thought Eric Holloway had a terrific game. He’s been in a slump lately, so this was a step up for him.”
It was the the Sun Devils’ first conference road victory since Dec. 22.
