An apparently accidental fire caused $160,000 in damage to an administrative bungalow at California State University, Northridge, authorities said.
The fire broke out in the 5,000-square-foot building at Etiwanda Avenue and Halsted Street about 9 p.m. Monday, Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said. The fire was extinguished in 25 minutes, he said. There were no injuries.
Inspector Ed Reed said the cause of the blaze has not been determined, but that investigators have ruled out arson.
