The University of Minnesota men’s athletic department committed no serious violations, an 18-month investigation found. According to an 800-page report made by the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and university officials, there was no organized pattern or practice of serious violations by student-athletes, coaches or officials.

The report, with names omitted, was released after the Minnesota Daily student newspaper took the matter to court and a three-judge panel of the Minnesota Court of Appeals lifted a temporary stay that kept the document secret.

Among the possible rules violations was the questionable salary structure of a current assistant basketball coach. The salary includes $17,000 from the university’s Office of Student Affairs and $8,000 from the athletic department.
