Pepperdine Batters CSUN, 14-4
Pepperdine collected 17 hits off three Cal State Northridge pitchers in the Waves’ 14-4 nonconference baseball victory Wednesday at Eddy D. Field Stadium in Malibu.
The Waves (6-7) scored three runs in each of the first three innings, two more in the fourth and sixth and one in the eighth. CSUN had 4 hits and committed 2 errors.
CSUN scored a run in the first and three more in the ninth. Geoff Curtis opened the ninth with a double and Scott Stewart and Jim Mitchell both hit run-scoring grounders. Lenn Gilmore also doubled for the Matadors (2-11).
Pitcher Leo Ramirez (0-4) suffered the loss.
The Matadors play host to Westmont at 2 p.m. Friday.
