San Diego
An elderly woman whose body was found in her Southeast San Diego home Thursday may have been a homicide victim, police said.
Coroner’s deputies identified the woman as Mary Powell, 81. Police said that Powell’s body was found on the living room floor of her Teak Street home by relatives Thursday morning. The cause of death had not been determined Thursday, and autopsy was scheduled for today.
Police spokesman Bill Robinson said investigators originally suspected that Powell was the victim of a burglary because they found a broken window in the house. But investigators found no signs of ransacking.
