Paul Azinger slogged through occasional showers to a bogey-free 66 that gave him a four-stroke lead with a 132 total Friday in the second round of the $750,000 Bay Hill golf tournament at Orlando, Fla.

South African David Frost and Andrew Magee, who hasn’t finished higher than sixth in four seasons on the PGA Tour, shared second place at 136.

“The biggest lead I’ve ever had,” Azinger said. “But I’m well aware you can blow 10 shots real easy in two rounds.

“The rain didn’t hurt me a bit. It rained on us pretty good from the 12th through the 15th holes, and I birdied two of them.”

Magee, who was tied with Azinger for the first-round lead, could do no better than a 70.

Frost moved up with a 66 that included a birdie-birdie finish.

Al Geiberger shot a course-record 63 to take a three-stroke lead in the first round at the Pointe-Del E. Webb Arizona Senior tournament at Sun City West, Ariz.

Geiberger’s nine-under-par round was also a tournament record and left him three strokes ahead of little-known Quinton Gray and Agim Bardha who had 66s.

Geiberger, who joined the PGA Seniors Tour last year, shot a 59 at the Colonial Country Club in Memphis, Tenn., 11 years ago.

“I did think about shooting a 59 again a little more than I should have,” Geiberger said. “When I got to eight under (par), I realized I had a chance. Then I realized how well you have to play to do that.”

Robin Walton made eight birdies en route to an eight-under-par 64 for a total of 133 and the halfway lead in the $300,000 Circle K LPGA Tucson Open.

Patty Sheehan duplicated her opening round of 68 to put her in second place, three shots behind Walton.

Walton used excellent approach shots to set up her eight birdies, with only one of the putts more than 12 feet.

Laura Davies, who shot a course-record 63 for the first-round lead, is third, four shots behind Walton, after a 74.
