Man Found Slain Near Escondido Bar
The body of a 26-year-old man who had been stabbed many times was found early Saturday next to an Escondido bar that has been the site of numerous assaults in recent years, Escondido police said.
The body of Frankie Hernandez, 26, whose last known address was in Escondido, was discovered in an alley next to the Pastime Club, a police spokeswoman said. An area resident discovered the body at 6:45 a.m. and notified authorities. Paramedics rushed Hernandez to Palomar Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival, authorities said.
Police could not say how long Hernandez had been lying in the alley or when he had been injured.
Escondido police have no motive and are seeking witnesses.
