Local News in Brief : Team to Compete in Tokyo

Members of San Pedro High School’s pep squad will compete for the title of Miss Drill Team International in Tokyo in July, Principal Bruce Rhoades said.

He said the San Pedro team, which was among top winners in a recent U. S. pageant, is seeking local sponsors to help pay for air fare and registration costs, which total about $900 per student.

Japanese sponsors of the July 20-27 event will pay hotel and other costs in Tokyo, he said.
