Lazers Meet Sockers in San Diego Tonight
The Lazers will have their hands full as they begin their drive for the playoffs with consecutive games against the San Diego Sockers beginning tonight at 7:30 at the San Diego Sports Arena.
The Lazers (24-23), who play eight of their last nine games against Western Division teams, are in second place, leading the Kansas City Comets and Tacoma Stars by a half-game and 1 1/2 games, respectively. The Wichita Wings, who beat the Comets Friday night, are 1 1/2 games behind the Stars. Four teams in each division qualify for the playoffs.
The Sockers, five-time Major Indoor Soccer League champions, are 36-10, the only team with fewer than 20 losses.
