Judges at Sportsman’s Park in Chicago changed the finish of the seventh race but not before some bettors cashed their tickets and made money off the wrong order.
After the race, the winner was announced as No. 3 Libretto Ledger, followed by No. 6 Darling Funnyface and No. 7 Grey Wing Pointe.
Payout windows were open for about 15 minutes before the judges re-examined the finish-line photo and ruled that Grey Wing Pointe was a nose ahead of Darling Funnyface for second.
The track then posted new payoffs for place and show, as well as quinella and perfecta bets.
Sportsman’s losses will not be tallied until today, track spokesman John Brokopp said.
