Maurice Lucas, who hinted when he signed with the Portland Trail Blazers last year that this might be his final season in the National Basketball Assn., has made his retirement plans official, The Oregonian reported.

The newspaper did not say if Lucas, a former Laker, would retire at the end of the season or immediately.
