Holes in one were scored at Los Angeles municipal golf courses by Tom Riley of West Los Angeles at Penmar and by Harvey J. Gelbwachs of Santa Monica at Roosevelt. Evans Butler, Penmar course supervisor, shot an eagle at Encino’s 360-yard, par-4 first hole.
Jay Pittman shot a 32 for nine holes to win the A Flight at the Penmar Men’s Golf Club’s March tournament. Other flight winners and their gross scores: Lou Kyzivat, B, 37; Bill Temple, C, 38; Art Wolken, D, 43, and Buddy Devito, temporary, 38.
Gladys Mondy won the women’s championship and B. Nickelberry the men’s title at the 39th annual 28th Street/Crenshaw YMCA golf tournament.
