Six Santa Clarita Valley residents have been named by Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich to serve on a newly formed Social Services Transportation Advisory Council.
They are Juanita Heinly of Agua Dulce, representing potential public transit users 60 and older; Duane Dye of Newhall, representing handicapped people; Bonnie Bernard and Allan Cameron of Canyon Country and Alfredo Vasquez of Newhall, from the community at large.
The council was formed to review transit needs in the rural areas of the Antelope and Santa Clarita valleys and Santa Catalina Island that are entitled to receive state funds for public transit, said Antonovich aide and Santa Clarita City Councilwoman Jo Anne Darcy.
