Robin Williams and Bernardo Bertolucci said words that network TV censors normally bleep, Chevy Chase dropped his pants during ABC’s Academy Awards broadcast Monday, but nobody seemed the worse for wear Tuesday. Academy officials were still chuckling Tuesday over Robin Williams’ fully improvisational stint at the presenter’s podium. “(He) was hysterical--he’s meant to be outrageous,” one insider said of the Best Actor nominee’s remarks. An academy official said Chase’s material was 80% written on cue cards, but said the remaining 20% displayed a “lack of class and style.” ABC executives seemed unfazed by the night’s antics. “It was a live telecast and that’s part of it,” said a network spokesman.
