St. Augustine High School needed a triple play, seven doubles and a home run for a 10-8 City Central League victory over San Diego at home Friday afternoon.

St. Augustine recorded the triple play in the third inning. San Diego had runners on first and second. Brian Baird hit a line drive that was short-hopped by second baseman Eric Dent.

The runners, thinking Dent had caught the ball on the fly, tried to return to their bases. Dent threw to shortstop Jim Bitler for the force at second, and Bitler threw to first baseman Juan Lopez for the second out. Junior Gusman, who had been on second, then tried to reach third but was thrown out.
