THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES : Roundup : Saddleback’s Taylor Has Another No-Hitter
Patti Taylor pitched her second consecutive no-hitter to lead Saddleback College to a 2-0 victory over Cypress Friday in an Orange Empire Conference softball game at Cypress.
Taylor, who threw an 11-inning no-hitter Wednesday against Rancho Santiago, is 26-2.
It was her third no-hitter of the season. She had four strikeouts, but two walks spoiled her bid for a perfect game. Taylor got 16 ground-ball outs.
Saddleback (27-3, 14-0) scored two unearned runs in the third inning and has a four-game lead over second-place Cypress with six to play.
In nonconference men’s tennis:
Orange Coast 9, Rio Hondo 0--Eric Ribitzer improved to 20-0 this season with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over David Corona for host OCC (14-2-1).
