Rams’ Brown Returning to Track
Rams wide receiver Ron Brown, who won an Olympic gold medal in 1984, announced today that he is quitting football to return to track.
“I am announcing my retirement from pro football,” Brown said at a news conference. “I’ve made up my mind and my goals are in track. I have been granted amateur status by the (International Amateur Athletic Federation) and would like to prove I’m the fastest man in the world,” added Brown, who said he wants to collect another gold medal at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul.
