Local News in Brief : Mission Viejo : Driver Hospitalized After Car Accident
A 60-year-old man was in serious condition Friday afternoon after he drove through a red light and crashed into another car at the intersection of Los Alisos Boulevard and Vallejo, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Charles Galanti of Mission Viejo was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving and taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for severe head cuts, the CHP said.
Jacqueline Schulz, 32, of Mission Viejo, who was driving the second car, suffered head cuts and was treated at Saddleback Hospital in Laguna Hills and released.
Authorities said Galanti was traveling east on Los Alisos Boulevard about 4:50 p.m. Thursday when his car struck Schulz’s car, which was traveling north on Vallejo Street.
