Fallbrook
A 23-year-old unemployed farm worker Thursday was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man whose body was found late Tuesday in a shallow grave in Fallbrook.
Jose Alcaraz Moreno, 23, of the 4200 block of Sterling View Drive in Rainbow, was seen by a Fallbrook patrol deputy in a vehicle traveling in the 700 block of Mission Boulevard. He was arrested about 2 p.m. and booked into the County Jail in Vista on suspicion of murder, sheriff’s deputies said.
Acting on a tip, sheriff’s homicide detectives unearthed a body believed to be that of Eloy Barriga, 22, a farm worker from Fallbrook. The murder is still under investigation, authorities said.
