Motorcyclist Hits Telephone Pole, Dies

A motorcyclist was killed when he lost control of his cycle and crashed into a telephone pole on Hewes Street near Rancho Santiago Boulevard in Orange, police said Saturday.
The victim carried no identification, police said. They estimated he was in his early 20s.
The man was traveling south on Hewes Street at 10:18 p.m. Friday when he lost control on a curve, police said.
The cycle skidded off the roadway, across a dirt shoulder and struck the pole.
