A 220-acre fire in the San Bernardino National Forest has been fully contained, and firefighters mopped up other wildfires in Riverside and Orange counties. The forest fire 10 miles north of Big Bear Lake burned in dense pinon and juniper trees, but destroyed only an abandoned mining shack. In Riverside County, three homes and three other buildings were destroyed, a seventh structure was damaged and some residential evacuations were ordered near Desert Hot Springs when flames scorched 1,800 acres, fire officials said. In Orange County, firefighters battled a a 170-acre blaze near the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station for three hours before containing it, officials said.
