National City
A man suffering a gunshot wound in the chest died Thursday, shortly after he was taken to the emergency room of Paradise Valley Hospital in National City, San Diego police said.
Police spokesman Dave Cohen said investigators are trying to identify the victim, who was taken to hospital shortly before 1 a.m. by another man driving a brown vehicle.
According to police, the driver told the emergency staff that the victim was wounded near Ocean View Boulevard. Without identifying himself or the victim, the driver left the hospital and said he would return with the victim’s mother, Cohen said. The man did not return.
