A 19-year-old Logan Heights man died Monday morning after being wounded Friday in a drive-by shooting just a few blocks from his home, San Diego police said.

Rudolfo Rios was standing with several people on the north side of the 2000 block of National Avenue at 2:40 a.m. Friday when a white car carrying three people drove by. Two bullets were fired from the passenger side, one of which hit Rios in the forehead, spokesman Bill Robinson said.

Friends took Rios, who lived in the 1000 block of South Evans Street, to San Diego Physicians & Surgeons Hospital. He was transferred to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he died at about 4:45 a.m. Monday, the county coroner’s office said.
