The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee announced its selections of first- and second-round and regional sites for the 1991 tournament and made some adjustments in the sites for the 1989 and 1990 tournaments.
The site selections for the 1991 tournament: EAST--First and second rounds, College Park, Md., and Syracuse, N.Y.; regional, East Rutherford, N.J. SOUTHEAST--First and second rounds, Louisville, Ky., and Atlanta; regional, Charlotte, N.C. MIDWEST--First and second rounds, Minneapolis and Dayton, Ohio; regional, Pontiac, Mich. WEST--First and second rounds, Salt Lake City and Tucson; regional, Seattle.
In the 1989 tournament, the first and second rounds of the West region will be played at McKale Center at Tucson, and in 1990, the first and second rounds of the West region will be played at Long Beach Arena instead of at Tucson, with Cal State Long Beach as host.
