In L.A., Score This Round for Oprah
While most of the country watched Severiano Ballesteros’ spectacular final round in the British Open Monday afternoon, Los Angeles viewers were shut out. Channel 7 program director Don Corsini decided about noon Monday not to preempt the “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” The delayed coverage of the British Open’s final day was not planned to be shown until at least 1 a.m., after “The Morton Downey Jr. Show.”
Efforts to reach Corsini were unsuccessful.
