Reserve Forward Rogers Won’t Return to SDSU
Caldin Rogers, a reserve forward on the San Diego State basketball team, will not return for his senior season.
The school made no announcement and gave no reason for Rogers’ departure, but he was not included in a preseason team prospectus released this week.
Rogers, a 6-foot 6-inch native of Detroit, transferred to SDSU last fall from Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. He averaged 3.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game while starting 9 and playing in all 29 of the Aztecs’ games.
Rogers also was second on the team in turnovers with 65 despite averaging only 20 minutes per game.
Coach Jim Brandenburg was on a recruiting trip and could not be reached for comment.
