A second suspect in the slaying of a Lake View Terrace pizza store employee and wounding of another surrendered to authorities Monday morning.

Reginald Leon Morris, 19, of Lake View Terrace walked into the Foothill Division police station with his parents and a minister and turned himself in, Detective Al Ferrand said. Morris was being held without bail in the Foothill Jail on suspicion of murder.

On Sunday, police arrested a 15-year-old Lake View Terrace youth shortly after the 2:30 a.m. shooting at Domino’s Pizza in the 11900 block of Foothill Boulevard.

The shootings, which police said occurred during a robbery after the business closed, killed store manager Sean Patrick Linn, 23, of Granada Hills and wounded Freddie Zuniga, 24, of San Fernando. Zuniga is in critical condition at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills.

The 15-year-old suspect, whose name is being withheld because of his age, was a cook at the take-out pizza shop.

Reported By Father

The shooting was reported by the youth’s father, police said. The father had returned home from a business trip early Sunday morning and found his son was not home. He then checked a place in the home where he kept a handgun, police said. When he could not find the gun, he left to look for his son.

“We aren’t really sure what made him suspicious or look to see if the gun was still there,” Detective Richard Knapp said.

Police said the father went directly to the pizza shop where the youth worked.

“When he got to the business, he saw his son and another individual leaving,” Ferrand said. “He approached his son and asked, ‘What happened and where is the gun?’ Then he looked into the business and saw one of the victims on the floor bleeding.”

At that point, Ferrand said, the second individual fled. The father took the gun, and because the store was locked, drove his son to their home nearby and called authorities immediately.

Paramedics and police arrived at the shop a few minutes later and forced their way inside, Ferrand said. They found Linn dead of several gunshot wounds and Zuniga wounded.

Money Left Behind

Police said they found $550 cash that they believe had been taken from the cash register but left behind by the robbers.

Police said the shootings occurred as Linn and Zuniga were cleaning up after closing the store for the night.

Ferrand said the 15-year-old suspect worked Saturday night but left the shop before it closed at 2 a.m. He said the youth returned with an accomplice, who did not work at the pizza store, and was apparently allowed back in by his two co-workers. Ferrand declined to say who police believe fired the shots.

The 15-year-old was arrested at his home. He is being held at Sylmar Juvenile Hall.

Ferrand said Morris surrendered Monday morning in the company of the Rev. William Broadous of Calvary Baptist Church of San Fernando. Broadous, who is also a police chaplain at the Foothill station, would not comment other than to say that Morris’ parents had called and asked him to accompany them to the police station.
