Former Redondo Baseball Aide Dies
Services were conducted Wednesday for Denny Johnson, a former assistant baseball coach at Redondo High School and the father of two former Seahawk standouts, who died Friday from a heart attack. He was 52 and had a history of heart problems.
He is survived by wife Pat, three daughters and two sons.
His sons, Chris and Paul, were All-CIF players for Redondo and went on to collegiate careers. Chris played first base for Pepperdine and Paul, who will be a senior this fall, helped pitch Cal State Fullerton into the College World Series last season.
