Moorpark Finishes 1-2 in Invitational

Anna Howald and Chris Pressman led Moorpark College cross-country teams to first- and second-place finishes, respectively, at the Moorpark Invitational on Friday.

Howald timed 21 minutes, 9 seconds over a 5,000-meter course to place third in the women’s race, leading Moorpark to a 48-61 victory over Grossmont.

Pressman placed fifth in the men’s race with a time of 21:46 over the 3.95-mile course. Mike Yarborough of San Diego Mesa won in 21:23, leading the Olympians to a 55-86 victory over Moorpark.

Ramon Perez (10th in 21:57), Paul McCarter (20th in 22:42), Matt Thomson (24th in 22:55) and Doug Lynch (27th in 23:08) rounded out the Raider scoring.
