The Boston Red Sox voted to give John McNamara, who was fired as manager after the All-Star break, a half-share of any postseason winnings, a Boston newspaper reported.
McNamara was replaced by third base coach Joe Morgan, who led the team from fourth place into first place in the AL East.
The Red Sox approved full shares for Morgan and 21 regular players, the Boston Herald reported. They also approved full shares for several clubhouse personnel who didn’t receive anything after the Red Sox won the American League title in 1986.
